Traveling in Style
by Dorothea
Where are the days when traveling required dressing up and great luggage?
Is there anything more depressing than the huddled masses you encounter shuffling through airports and train stations? What happened to dressing smartly when traveling? Have we given in to comfort over style all together? Here a few reminders what we could look like when on the move:
Jane Fonda and Roger Vadim in the 1960’s, Jane is wearing Chanel
I love those “soft” suitcases, both large and small. Look at Paul Newman’s casual, comfortable yet stylish look:

To be fair, porters are hard to find and modern suitcases with wheels are very handy, but still, would you not rather look like this, while your luggage is being tended to:
Now most people think Louis Vuitton luggage is IT, but in the sixties and seventies, Gucci was massively popular for glamourous travel:

However, the ever stylish film director Wes Anderson’s brother Eric Chase Anderson customized Louis Vuitton luggage for Wes’ charming film “The Darjeeling Limited“:

How I pined to have one of those pieces, they were displayed at Louis Vuitton on the Champs-Elysees in Paris when the film came out, but were headed straight for the Vuitton Collection!
Oh, look and learn: even if you choose comfort for traveling, these photos can inspire everyone to still be elegant and stylish!
